4.4 from 73 reviews

Refreshing Blueberry Iced Tea combines freshly brewed tea with a sweet and tangy blueberry mixture, perfect for a cooling summer beverage.

Ingredients

Scale

Blueberry Mixture

  • 1 cup fresh or frozen blueberries
  • 2 tablespoons sweetener (sugar, honey, or preferred sweetener)
  • 1/4 cup water

Tea

  • 4 cups water
  • 4 tea bags (black or green tea preferred)
  • Ice cubes, as needed

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Blueberry Mixture: In a small saucepan, combine blueberries, sweetener, and water. Bring to a simmer over medium heat, mashing the blueberries occasionally with a spoon until the mixture thickens slightly and releases its juices, about 5–7 minutes. Remove from heat and let cool.
  2. Brew the Tea: In a separate pot, bring 4 cups of water to a boil. Remove from heat and steep the tea bags for 5 minutes. Remove the tea bags and allow the brewed tea to cool to room temperature.
  3. Combine and Chill: Strain the blueberry mixture through a fine sieve to remove solids if desired. Mix the blueberry juice into the cooled tea, stirring well. Pour the combined mixture into a pitcher, refrigerate for at least 1 hour until nicely chilled.
  4. Serve: Fill glasses with ice cubes and pour the chilled blueberry iced tea over the ice. Garnish with fresh blueberries or lemon slices if desired. Serve immediately.

Notes

  • You can adjust the sweetener amount according to your taste preferences.
  • For a more intense blueberry flavor, you may add a handful of fresh blueberries into the brewed tea directly.
  • Green tea gives a lighter, more delicate flavor compared to black tea.
  • Straining the blueberry mixture is optional depending on your preferred texture.
  • Store leftover tea in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
