Ingredients

Scale

Fruit Base

  • 5 cups sliced peaches (about 67 medium peaches)
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar

Crumble Topping

  • 3/4 cup rolled oats
  • 1/3 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, cold and cubed

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Peaches: Wash, peel, and slice the peaches, then place them evenly in a baking dish. Toss the peaches with 1/4 cup of sugar to evenly coat and help release their juices during baking.
  2. Make the Crumble Topping: In a medium bowl, combine the rolled oats and 1/3 cup sugar. Add the cold, cubed butter and use your fingers or a pastry cutter to blend until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
  3. Assemble the Crisp: Evenly sprinkle the crumble mixture over the sugared peaches in the baking dish, covering the fruit completely.
  4. Bake the Crisp: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Place the baking dish on the middle rack and bake for about 35–40 minutes, or until the topping is golden brown and the peach juices are bubbling around the edges.
  5. Cool and Serve: Remove the crisp from the oven and allow it to cool for at least 10 minutes before serving. Enjoy it warm, optionally with vanilla ice cream or whipped cream.

Notes

  • For extra flavor, add a teaspoon of cinnamon or a splash of vanilla extract to the peaches before baking.
  • Use fresh, ripe peaches for the best taste and texture; frozen peaches can be used but may result in a more watery crisp.
  • Butter should be cold to create a crumbly topping rather than a paste.
  • Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days; reheat before serving.
