  • 1 1/2 cups oats
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup butter (softened)
  • 1 large egg
  • 1/2 tsp baking soda
  • 1/4 tsp salt

Chocolate Raspberry Chia Freezer Bites

  • 1/4 cup chia seeds
  • 2 tbsp cocoa powder (unsweetened)
  • 1 cup fresh raspberries
  • 2 tbsp honey or maple syrup (optional)
  • 1/2 cup almond milk or any preferred milk

Instructions

  1. No-Bake Homemade Dog Treats: In a mixing bowl, combine the peanut butter, oats, and mashed banana thoroughly until a dough forms. Shape the mixture into small bite-sized treats or press into a mold. Place them on a tray lined with parchment paper and refrigerate for at least 1 hour until hardened. Store in an airtight container in the fridge.
  2. Old-Fashioned Iced Oatmeal Cookies: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). In a bowl, cream the softened butter and sugar until smooth. Add the egg and vanilla extract, mixing well. Stir in the oats, flour, baking soda, and salt until combined. Drop spoonfuls onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Bake for 10-12 minutes until golden brown. Let cool completely on a wire rack. Mix powdered sugar with milk and vanilla for icing and drizzle over cooled cookies. Allow icing to set before serving.
  3. Chocolate Raspberry Chia Freezer Bites: In a bowl, mix chia seeds, cocoa powder, almond milk, and honey until well combined. Gently fold in fresh raspberries. Spoon the mixture into silicone molds or mini muffin trays. Freeze for at least 3 hours or until solid. Pop out the bites and serve immediately chilled. Keep stored in the freezer.

Notes

  • For the dog treats, ensure the peanut butter used does not contain xylitol or added sugar.
  • You can substitute bananas with unsweetened applesauce for variation in dog treats.
  • The oatmeal cookies can be customized by adding raisins or nuts if desired.
  • Adjust the sweetness of the freezer bites by adding more or less honey/maple syrup.
  • The chia freezer bites are a nutritious snack that should be eaten frozen for best texture and freshness.
